I had a major flashback this morning. I remembered something that I used to do as a child—play library. I hand-drew little library cards and either made envelopes (or used premade ones, I can’t remember) to secure to the inside of my books. I remember using a ruler to make even little lines on the card, and I would pencil in my name when I took a book down to read. Happy memory!

Watched The Red Balloon at lunchtime.
This one goes out to my Frankie.
When my sister and I were little, my mom was very good about making us write our thank you notes after birthdays and Christmas. Now that I’m a grownup (hypothetically), I’ve become quite lax. I’m resolved, however, to get back in the habit. There is nothing quite as thoughtful as a handwritten note sent by post. I ordered 101 Ways to Say Thank You with a gift card and cannot wait for it to arrive. (Image from Ecru.)
On the To Do list today: Cover hardback books with old-school brown paper and illustrate. (Inspiration taken from Book City Jackets.)
